• The second generation S-10 came in three wheelbase variations: the regular cab and short bed (SB), which measured 108 inches; the extended cab (EC) chassis, which measured 117 inches; and the long bed (LB) variations, which measured 122 inches. The second-generation weighed about 200 pounds more than the first, at 2,822 pounds for the SB, 2,874 pounds for the EC and 3,081 pounds for the LB.
  
  

Other Considerations

• Chevrolet's optional 4WD system adds about 250 pounds to the truck, and the 4.3-liter V-6 and automatic transmission add another 150 pounds. Gross vehicle weight (truck plus cargo plus trailer capacity) varies from 4,400 pounds for the lightest regular cab with a four-cylinder engine to 5,150 pound to the largest long-beds equipped with the 4.3-liter engine and the towing package.
