- 1). Lay plastic sheeting on the ground, underneath the fence. The plastic sheeting will protect the grass or flowers around the fence from the cleaning solutions.
- 2). Spray the fence with water from a garden hose to prepare a wet surface for the cleaning solutions. Pour 1/3 cup of liquid dish detergent in a cleaning bucket.
- 3). Mix water from the garden hose with the dish detergent to create a soapy solution. Dip a soft scrub brush into the soapy solution.
- 4). Scrub the fence with the scrub brush to remove dirt, grass, bugs and other debris. Continue to scrub the privacy fence until it is completely clean.
- 5). Spray the fence with water from the garden hose to rinse off the debris and soapy solution. Allow the fence to air dry.
