- 1). Cut gossamer into four 6-yard sections each. Twist two or three shades of gossamer fabric loosely around one another. Tack one end of a gossamer twist to the ceiling corner with push pins. Drape the fabric loosely across the ceiling, and tack the other ends toward the center of the room. Repeat this step in all four corners of the room. Adjust the gossamer streamers according to personal preference.
- 2). Cover tables with cotton tablecloths. Drape gossamer fabric across the tables and over the tablecloths. Alternate colors of gossamer between tables.
- 3). Inflate 30 balloons. Tie a 6-foot length of curling ribbon to the ends of each of 15 balloons, and an 8-foot length of ribbon to the remaining 15. Suspend the balloons from the ceiling in the spaces between the gossamer streamers, using push pins to secure the ribbon ends and varying the ribbon lengths. Further adjust ribbon lengths by curling the ribbons. The goal is to use the suspended balloons to create a more intimate space.
- 4). Tack a string of white twinkling lights around the edges of the room and on the ceiling to highlight the gossamer fabric and illuminate the balloons.
- 5). Fill a few small glass bowls with water. Set floating candles atop the water. Place the bowls on tables across the room. Center pillar candles across the tables to enhance the mood lighting.
