- 1). Put on a pair of work or gardening gloves. In addition to protecting your hands, these create extra friction that may help remove the old bulb if it is slippery.
- 2). Move your Rover Sprint mower to a flat surface, preferably outside. Replacing the primer bulb may spill a little gasoline (though no more than a teaspoon or two).
- 3). Grasp the old primer bulb and squeeze tightly. Once you squeeze, do not loosen your grip. Squeezing and un-squeezing the bulb may move the gasoline through the wires, making you spill more.
- 4). Wiggle the primer bulb off. The malleable plastic is shaped to pop in and out of the socket; no screwing or adhesive necessary. You might have to use a little force, but wiggling and prying it will get it off.
- 5). Push the new primer bulb into the now-empty socket. Again, you may have to use force, but you will feel it pop into position when you get it.
