- 1). Unscrew the two retaining screws on the round trim piece on the inside doorknob with a Phillips screwdriver.
- 2). Slide the inside doorknob off the square latch activating shaft. Remove the locking half of the mechanism by sliding the square shaft out of the latch mechanism from the outside.
- 3). Insert the replacement locking half by sliding the square shaft through the matching hole in the latch mechanism and aligning the two screw shafts vertically. Insert the inside half by sliding it onto the square shaft and aligning the screw holes with the screw shafts.
- 4). Insert the two long attachment screws provided in the kit, through the inside trim piece, and tighten with a Phillips screwdriver. Test the doorknob by closing and opening the door and locking and unlocking it from both sides two or three times.
