- 1). Remove the lug nuts on both front wheels with the socket set. Don't take them off completely yet, but loosen them so they can be removed by hand later.
- 2). Put on your safety glasses and lift up the front end with the floor jack. Support it on the two jack stands, putting one under each side of the truck at the frame.
- 3). Remove the lug nuts and wheels by hand. Push the drop pan underneath the brake assembly and then spray the brakes with brake cleaner to remove as much brake dust as you can.
- 4). Squirt penetrating oil into the brake caliper bolts on both sides, making sure to get the oil in between the bolt and the caliper. Allow this to sit for 30 minutes, or the time specified on the penetrating oil container, if different.
- 5). Remove the caliper bolts with the socket set. If the oil didn't free the bolts completely, you may need a breaker bar to loosen them.
- 6). Pull the caliper off the rotor by hand once the bolts are out.
