- 1). Ask a friend or relative of the deceased to confirm which funeral home will be handling the funeral or get the information from the deceased's obituary notice. You also can figure out exactly where to send the funeral flowers by calling the florist in the area in which the funeral will be held, since florists keep up with obituary notices.
- 2). Obtain the address of the funeral home by looking in your local phone book, or by searching for the name and city of the funeral home online.
- 3). Decide on your budget. The larger arrangement you want, the more you'll have to pay. You'll also pay extra for flowers that aren't in season. Some florists charge extra fees for delivery or online processing, and you should plan for sales tax.
- 4). Figure out which florist you want to use. Go to its store or website or call and select the arrangement you'd like. Ask the florist to choose an arrangement that is appropriate for local funeral customs if you aren't familiar with funeral etiquette for the region in which the funeral is to be held.
- 5). Give the address of the funeral home and your personal message for the card to the florist or enter it into the florist's order form online. Be sure to sign the card or enter your name into the order form so the family of the deceased knows who sent the flowers.
- 6). Pay for your order.
