- 1). Determine which words you want to transfer onto the bottle. Some words can be written freehand, others will require a pattern for specific fonts or flourishes.
- 2). Print the wording you want or cut it from another source, such as a magazine or product label.
- 3). Wash the bottle thoroughly with dish soap and water. Soak the bottle in hot, soapy water and scrub the old label off. Discard the label if you don't need it.
- 1). Tape the wording on the back of the bottle, facing the front, so you can see the words through the glass on the front side of the bottle. Alternatively, tape the stencil to the front of the bottle.
- 2). Dip your paintbrush in the glass paint, which can be found at many art stores, and either fill in your stencil or trace over the wording you see through the glass. You can also freehand paint. Immediately wipe off any mistakes.
- 3). Let dry overnight before using. Wash carefully by hand after using, as glass paint has the potential of washing off.
- 1). Tape the stencil tightly to the front of the bottle, over the area in which you wish to etch.
- 2). Dip your paintbrush in the etching cream and dab liberally on the stencil openings.
- 3). Leave the cream on the areas for a few minutes up to a few hours, depending on manufacturer's instructions.
- 4). Remove the stencil and rinse the cream off under running water.
- 5). Use and wash the bottle as you normally would.
