How do I Troubleshoot a Maytag MAH4000 Washer?

Spinning and Water Drainage Problems

1). Press the Max Extract button on the Options panel if your clothes are too wet at the end of the wash cycle. Start the load again.
2). Use a high efficiency detergent. This will reduce suds and improve water removal during the spin cycle.
3). Add more items to the load. Small loads with just a few items may not get completely dry during the spin cycle.
4). Straighten the drain and inlet hoses that extend from the back side of the washer. Remove any kinks and start the washer again.
5). Close the washer door completely. Make sure the door locks. Press the Start/Stop button and wait for the washer to start the spin cycle.
6). Start the cycle again if the tub is full of suds. Press cold under the water temperature options. Run the cycle using only cold water and no detergent. Use a low suds detergent next time.

1). Open and close the door. Wait for the cycle to start again.
2). Plug the cord into a functioning electrical outlet if the washer won't fill. Test the outlet with a known working appliance. Check the fuses or circuit breaker and replace burnt out fuses or reset the circuit breaker if necessary.
3). Turn the control dial to re-select the cycle. Point the arrow on the control dial to a cycle starting point. Press the Start/Stop button in completely.
4). Turn the hot and cold faucet hookups connected to the back of the unit completely. Straighten and remove any kinks from the inlet hoses. Disconnect the hoses by unscrewing them and clean any debris from the screens with a soft cloth.

1). Press the button for the temperature desired on the wash and rinse temperature menu. Depress the button completely. Press the Start/Stop button and wait for the cycle to restart.
2). Check the temperature on your water heater. Increase the temperature to a minimum of 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
3). Disconnect the inlet hoses on the back of the unit by unscrewing them. Clean any debris from the screens with a soft, clean cloth. Reconnect the hoses and start the unit again.
