Saeco Magic Deluxe Instructions

    Preparing for Use

    • 1). Remove the swivel ring and drip tray from the Saeco Magic Deluxe container. Fit the swivel ring to the rear of the machine and the drip tray to the front under the coffee and steam outlets.

    • 2). Pour coffee beans into the coffee bean container whose opening is on the right hand side of the machine top. Pour fresh water into the tank which is in the center of the machine top.

    • 3). Insert the Saeco Magic Deluxe plug into the most convenient electric socket and move the power switch to "l" to turn on the machine.

    • 4). Position a container under the steam tube and turn the control knob clockwise to begin the circuit loading procedure.

    • 5). Watch the steam tube carefully. When a steady stream of water starts to come out of it stop the circuit loading process by turning the control knob to "Off".

    • 6). Remove the container from under the steam tube and watch the visual display on the control panel. The machine is ready to use when the "Ready" light on the right-hand side of the panel illuminates.

    Making Coffee Using Beans

    • 1). Place one or two pre-warmed coffee cups beneath the coffee outlet.

    • 2). Press the button on the control panel corresponding to the type of coffee required. Press once for one cup and twice for two cups.

    • 3). Remove the cup(s) when the machine finishes dispensing coffee.

    Using Pre-Ground Coffee

    • 1). Place a pre-heated cup beneath your Saeco Magic Deluxe brew unit.

    • 2). Press the control panel button beside the words "Pre-ground coffee". Then use the coffee measure supplied with the machine to load it with pre-ground coffee. Do not use more than one full measure. The pre-ground coffee dispenser lid is directly in front of the coffee grinder.

    • 3). Select the type of coffee desired using the buttons on the control panel and remove the cup once your coffee has been dispensed.

    Obtaining Hot Water

    • 1). Place a container under the steam tube on your Saeco Magic Deluxe.

    • 2). Turn the control knob counterclockwise to begin the flow of hot water into the container and wait until it is filled to the desired level.

    • 3). Stop the flow of water by turning the control knob clockwise, and remove the container from under the steam tube.

    Making Cappucino

    • 1). Pour fresh milk into a cup, filling it one third of the way to the rim.

    • 2). Select the steam function using the relevant button on the control panel and wait for the light to illuminate indicating the machine is ready for use.

    • 3). Rotate the control knob counterclockwise to eliminate excess water, and close it once steam alone is produced.

    • 4). Position the cup containing the milk beneath the steam tube and open the knob again. Move the cup around in a circular motion to ensure even heating of the milk, then froth it by lowering the cup so the tip of the steam tube is just under the surface. Close the knob and remove the cup when finished.

    • 5). Select "Coffee" on the control panel, place a container under the steam knob and open it, allowing hot water to pass through. Once the "Ready" light remains steadily lit, close the knob, remove the container and dispense coffee into the cup of frothy milk.

    Adjusting Coffee Grind and Amount

    • 1). Use the lever directly beneath the Saeco Magic Deluxe grinder to adjust the grind. Moving the lever to the left makes coffee flow out more slowly and moving it to the left makes it flow out more quickly.

    • 2). Open the door on the right-hand side of the machine to adjust the strength of the coffee. Move the lever located behind the door to the right to make stronger coffee, and to the left to make weaker coffee.

    • 3). Adjust the quantity of coffee dispensed by placing a cup under the dispensing unit and pressing the button corresponding to the type of coffee you want. Hold the button while the coffee is being dispensed and let go only when enough is in the cup. This is the amount which will now be automatically dispensed by the machine.
