- 1). Launch Quicken on the old computer, then click "File" on the menu bar.
- 2). Select "Backup" or "Backup and Restore" from the drop-down list and then click "Backup Quicken File."
- 3). Select "On My Computer," then click "Browse" in the "Select the Disk Drive and Path to the Backup Folder" field.
- 4). Navigate to the location of the backup media such as a USB flash drive. Click the "OK" button to start the backup process and then click "OK" when the backup finishes. Remove the backup media from the computer.
- 1). Insert the storage media, such as a CD, into your computer. Close the AutoPlay window if it opens.
- 2). Launch Quicken on the new computer. Click "File," then select "Restore Backup File" or "Backup and Restore," then "Restore from Backup."
- 3). Click "Browse my Computer" and then navigate to the location of the storage media, such as a USB drive.
- 4). Click "OK" to begin the restoration process. Click "OK" when the process is complete.
- 5). Click "File" and then select "Open" from the drop-down list to open the transferred Quicken file.
