Create Backup

• 1). Launch Quicken on the old computer, then click "File" on the menu bar.
  
  
• 2). Select "Backup" or "Backup and Restore" from the drop-down list and then click "Backup Quicken File."
  
  
• 3). Select "On My Computer," then click "Browse" in the "Select the Disk Drive and Path to the Backup Folder" field.
  
  
• 4). Navigate to the location of the backup media such as a USB flash drive. Click the "OK" button to start the backup process and then click "OK" when the backup finishes. Remove the backup media from the computer.
  
  

Restore Backup on New Computer

• 1). Insert the storage media, such as a CD, into your computer. Close the AutoPlay window if it opens.
  
  
• 2). Launch Quicken on the new computer. Click "File," then select "Restore Backup File" or "Backup and Restore," then "Restore from Backup."
  
  
• 3). Click "Browse my Computer" and then navigate to the location of the storage media, such as a USB drive.
  
  
• 4). Click "OK" to begin the restoration process. Click "OK" when the process is complete.
  
  
• 5). Click "File" and then select "Open" from the drop-down list to open the transferred Quicken file.
