When you want to find who sent you that email then what you need to do is a reverse email search also known as a reverse email lookup.
To find out who sent you that email the first thing to do is to look at whom it is from and what the subject is about.
See if it is a name you recognize.
Is it the last name of someone you know or maybe a company name or it could possibly be a nickname of someone.
Look at that very closely and see if you recognize something there.
The next thing you can try is to look at the subject and maybe that will give you a hint as to who might have sent it.
Was it something you had discussed with someone or something you might have checked out online somewhere? If there is no subject then be a little cautious there.
You may not want to open it up.
You can also take the name and type that into one of the search engines and see if that brings up something for you that way.

If you decide that you are going to open that email, then at the top of the email is usually the sender of the email.
It might be a company or an individual.
You may be able to find out more there as to who it is that sent you this email.
Also down at the bottom of the email there it will usually say who it is from with a name and an address and sometimes a phone number.
Sometimes doing a reverse email lookup can be done for free but usually the service that is doing this search for you is limited to what they have in certain databases.
In order to find out more information you may need to pay a nominal fee to a reverse email service.
The ones that you pay for have much larger databases and have access to more information.
But first try to search it on you own and exhaust all avenues.
