  Halloween is a great opportunity for couples to fire up their creativity. Dressing up as a famous or otherwise recognizable couple can be fun, and costumes can be made at home for little to no money.
  
  

Tarzan and Jane

• Tarzan and Jane costumes require little effort, and are perfect for a couple who doesn't mind showing some skin. All you need is some animal-print fabric (i.e. faux leopard or cheetah skin) and some basic sewing skills. Buy sufficient fabric to cover your essential areas, cut it up to look savage and sew it up with some simple stitches. Hairspray is helpful to create the wild hair look. Brush on some dark makeup to add dirt marks to your faces and you're ready to go.
  
  

Devil and Angel

• The devil-angel combo is an easily recognizable duo. You can create these costumes from your own wardrobe, with the man as the devil and the woman as the angel. The devil can wear a dark suit or anything dark, flowing and mysterious. Red and black are his colors. Capes, jackets, silk shirts, pants and ties in red and black make the devil costume sleek and sexy. A set of devil horns are inexpensive and readily available in drugstores and costume shops. The angel's colors are white, gold and blue. Ladies should wear flowing, silky, delicate white dresses, robes, capes or skirts. Gold and blue accents like scarves, wraps and makeup are a nice addition to the angel costume, as is anything that sparkles and shines. A halo is also easily and inexpensively found in Halloween and drugstores, but is not necessary for the costume.
  
  

Cross Dressing

• The least expensive of all the couples costume ideas is cross-dressing, as the man can simply dress in his lady's clothes while the lady wears her man's attire. The man should be careful not to stretch out his partner's garments. Choose items that are big enough for him, such as wraps, skirts and larger T-shirts that leave room for bra stuffing. The lady can help with his hair, makeup and accessories. Ladies should choose the most masculine articles of clothing. Suits, ties, long pants or casual items like jean and leather jackets work well. Hats, glasses and fake facial hair add the finishing touches to the lady's costume.
