- 1). Click "Applications." Point to "Accessories." Click "Terminal." Input "sudo apt-get install gnome-color-chooser" into the command-line application.
- 2). Press "Enter" to install the program to Ubuntu Linux. Press "Y" when prompted, then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the install.
- 3). Click "System." Point to "Preferences," then click "Gnome Color Chooser." Click the "Specific" tab.
- 4). Select the "Normal," "Hover" and "Button Pressed" buttons next to "Scrollbars" to change the vertical scroll bar color. Slide the pointer along the color ring to change the hue; click a point in the triangle to change the saturation and brightness.
- 5). Click "OK" to select the color. Select "Apply." Open Mozilla Firefox and go to a page to test the vertical scroll bars in Linux. Click "Close" if you are satisfied with the scroll bar color.
