Developed and produced by the Feld Entertainment production company since 1981, Disney on Ice has delighted guests for more than 29 years. The Disney on Ice performances feature favorite Disney characters skating on ice to songs from cherished Disney movies. Elaborate props and detailed costumes add to the excitement. A number of shows have toured through the years, with some Disney on Ice shows enjoying long-running careers. - First premiering in 2002, "Princess Classics" is one of the longest-running Disney on Ice show still on tour. Featuring favorite princess characters, each story takes families to a different princess world. Guests see Ariel and her kingdom under the sea and Jasmine in her Arabian palace. Other Disney princesses featured include Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, Snow White and Belle from "Beauty and the Beast." This show includes extravagant backdrops like the Prince's castle in Cinderella. Tinker Bell hosts the "Princess Classics" ice show.
- As the longest-running Disney on Ice production, "Mickey and Minnie's Magical Journey" first premiered in 1995. During this show, Mickey and Minnie Mouse take guests to visit some of their favorite Disney characters. Simba and Nala from "The Lion King," Peter Pan and Wendy from "Peter Pan," Ariel and Sebastian from "The Little Mermaid" and the title characters from "Lilo and Stitch" are all a part of the production. Props like Captain Hook's pirate ship wow viewers, as "Mickey and Minnie's Magical Journey" features favorite songs from the aforementioned movies.
- "100 Years of Magic" is a Disney on Ice show on tour since 1999. This ice spectacular features more than 70 Disney characters from movies like "The Lion King," "Pinocchio," "Beauty and the Beast" and "Aladdin." 100 Years of Magic presents the largest cast of characters from the widest variety of Disney movies than any other Disney on Ice performance. Guests will enjoy songs like "Whistle While You Work," while figure skaters perform against backgrounds from these favorite movies. Mickey Mouse hosts the event, and classic characters like Goofy and Donald Duck perform as well.
- A number of other Disney on Ice shows are still on tour as of 2010. "Princess Wishes," "Worlds of Fantasy", "A Disneyland Adventure" and "Let's Celebrate" still perform in the United States as well as at international venues. In addition, "Pixar" and Disney's "Toy Story 3" opened shortly after the movies premiered in 2010. New Disney on Ice performances are added periodically, often to coincide with movie releases.
