- 1). Remove the staple holding the locking bar to the trap base, if one is present.
- 2). Place a small amount of bait on the bait pedal. If the pedal has a curl, insert the bait into it.
- 3). Pull the bow back to the other side of the base. Hold it in place with your thumb.
- 4). Move the locking bar into position over the snap bow. Insert the tip of the locking bar under the lip on the bait pedal.
- 5). Slowly lift your thumb from the snap bow. Be careful not to bump the locking bar.
