- 1). Insert a flat-head screwdriver into the slot of the clip pointing to the front of the cabinet if you are releasing two brass clips on the top of the washer.
- 2). Press down on the screwdriver while pushing the handle of the screwdriver toward the rear of the washing machine. This releases the clip from the top of the washing machine.
- 3). Unhook the brass clip from the notch on the rear panel. Repeat for the opposite side and place the clips in a safe place.
- 4). Slide a putty knife in between the front and top panel if releasing clips that secure the top panel to the front of the washer. Slide the putty knife blade approximately 4 inches from the outside corner until you feel some resistance. The resistance is the spring clip.
- 5). Push the putty knife blade over the spring clip while lifting on the corner of the top panel. Once the clip releases, move the putty to the opposite side and repeat the process.
