Scooter Tuning is Not a Crime But You Need to Do it Safe

Some people might think it probably isn't legal to tune your scooter to the max, wile in fact in most countries it is.
As long as your scooter still meets the standard safety prescriptions you can tune your scooter to the new and improved scooter you want it to be.
But there are some safety precautions you need to take before you start with scooter tuning.
It does not matter if you hire someone else to do the tuning or if you do it yourself you still are going to spend a pretty penny which you need to see as a proper investment to make a super scooter.
Do not let your neighbors nephew tinker with your scooter just because he can do it very cheap.
remember there is a reason why he is cheap.
Do it good, do it yourself When you have decided to start with scooter tuning yourself you are in for a steep learning curve.
You should avoid to treat your scooter as a trial and error tuning course and the only way to avoid this is to do some proper research.
Before you start doing anything you should find instructions and gather materials and equipment that you are going to need to do the job right.
Instructions about what you need to do, in what way and with what tools can be found online but you can also join a scooter club where other people can help you.
When you decide to do it yourself and you have done your homework you can be sure that you have done everything to get it right.
And when you have any doubt, do not try it just yet but ask around on the many forums that are available online.
You need a good work space for scooter tuning When it comes to work space it all starts and end with safety, did you know that the most common accidents with teenage boys is with scooter accidents and that nearly 60 percent of those accidents is because of mishaps with scooter tuning? Most of the time it are just minor injuries but they could have been avoided.
And one big part of that has to do with a good clean and safe work space.
The front lawn is most of the time not such a safe place, you need to be able to move around freely and not damage anything or anyone by spilling grease, oil or gas.
There is one advantage in working outside, scooter tuning needs to be done in a well-ventilated place this is because there are some chemicals you might need that can make you dizzy.
The area you work in also needs to be a flat area of concrete.
It needs to be level this means that when you put something on the floor it will not roll away.
You also need to make sure that pets, and children can not come in your work area, there are dangerous tools and even chemicals involved in scooter tuning and you need to prevent a child takes one of your tools when you have your back turned.
If you do not have such an area, look around if your friends do have a spare space you can use.
The garage? Working in a well ventilated and clean area would be the best thing we can advise you, but you need to make sure that the garage has no clutter like paper and other junk laying around.
And again make sure that the garage is well ventilated.
If you are going to use chemicals or power tools make sure you test electrical circuits and outlets to make sure you are not going to have sparks when you start working.
If you keep these safety tips in mind you are finally in for a great adventure of turning your basic regular scooter in to a vast, smart new and improved version.
Scooter tuning is a fun an challenging activity and we wish you the best of luck.
