- 1). Park the motorcycle in close proximity to another motorcycle or car. The other motorcycle or car should be turned off.
- 2). Clamp one red jumper cable clamp to the positive battery terminal on your motorcycle. Clamp the corresponding black clamp to the negative battery terminal.
- 3). Attach the other black jumper cable clamp to the negative terminal on the other motorcycle or car, Attach the final red clamp to the positive terminal.
- 4). Start the ignition on the other vehicle if it's a motorcycle, but not a car. The more powerful car battery should be able to charge your motorcycle battery without turning on the ignition. Starting a car when jumping a motorcycle can "over-juice" the motorcycle and destroy its electrical system.
- 5). Leave the cables to charge for three or four minutes. Start your motorcycle.
- 6). Remove the red clamp from the other battery, then from your battery. Remove the black clamp from the other battery, then from your battery.
- 7). Drive your motorcycle for at least 15 minutes to build up the battery charge.
