Prepare For Your Motorcycle Driving Test The Right Way

To be well prepared for a motorcycle driving test it helps to understand what you can expect on testing day.
Motorcycle testing is a two-step process.
It consists of one test that includes a series of multiple choice questions and a second test involving hazard perception.
Both parts of this exam must be successfully completed or the applicant will be required to take the entire test again.
Part One-The Multiple Choice Test The multiple choice test contains 50 questions.
These questions will test your knowledge on the theory of driving.
In order to pass the multiple choice part, you will need to answer at least 43 correctly.
The time limit for taking the test is 57 minutes.
Part Two-The Hazard Perception Test The Hazard Perception part will determine your ability to judge potential hazards and dangerous conditions whilst driving.
The test includes watching 15 individual video clips.
Each clip will contain a potential hazard that you need to identify.
One clip contains 2 hazards.
The total score for the Hazard Test is 75.
Each video clip is worth 5 marks.
You will need to have a least 44 marks to pass the test.
Be Prepared For Testing By Having All The Necessary Documentation These are the documents you will need to bring with you before you can take the written, visual and physical driving test.
Make sure to bring your valid DL 196, valid theory test certificate, Module 1 passing certificate and your student license.
Once you have successfully completed the preliminary testing, you can apply to take the driving part.
After you receive your testing date appointment, you will have to successfully show the skills required to became a fully licensed motorcycle driver.
Here is an idea of what to expect during the driving test.
Part Three-The Motorcycle Driving Test The motorcycle driving consists of two separate parts.
In the first module you will need to successfully complete: 1.
A minimum of 2 braking maneuvers which will include the use of your emergency brake.
2.
A minimum of 2 high-speed maneuvers (approx.
19 mph) and an obstacle exercise.
3.
A minimum of 2 slow-speed maneuvers including the slalom maneuver.
The second module consists of an eye test, road safety questions and a 30 minute road ride.
The testing instructor will choose whether you test from the right or left side of the course.
By practicing continually and studying the rules and concepts of safe motorcycle handling, you can safely and proudly become a fully licensed motorcycle operator.
