- 1). Mix 4 cups of vinegar with 2 cups of baking soda in a bucket.
- 2). Fill three sandwich bags about halfway with the solution and use rubber bands to secure them around the sink faucet, bath faucet and shower head. Leave the bags in place for an hour.
- 3). Pour 2 cups of vinegar (not the mixture) into the toilet bowl and allow it to sit for an hour.
- 4). Scrub the tub, shower, counters, sink and any tile surfaces with the remaining vinegar mixture in your bucket and a scrub brush. Allow the mixture to sit on the surfaces for an hour and rinse thoroughly with plain water.
- 5). Remove the bags from your faucets and shower head. Allow water to run through them for about five to 10 minutes to wash the mixture away from inside the fixtures. Rinse the outside surfaces of the fixtures with plain water and use your scrub brush for any stubborn deposits or grime.
- 6). Scrub the toilet with a toilet brush and flush it to rinse out the vinegar and any calcium removed by the vinegar.
