Did you know there are bloggers who have built huge readership and RSS subscriber base just by leaving comments on other blogs? And for some this was one of the only traffic generation strategies they used.
How did they accomplish this? They left comments which the readers of the blog posts found interesting and or provided value to the conversation.
These bloggers were able to successfully join the community, and become a valuable member.
What exactly is adding to the conversation? Add to the conversation is leaving comments that people find valuable, entertaining or humorous.
You don't have to do all three at once, that would be a herculean task.

Adding a unique perspective - As you are reading the post if you see a point the writer left out, then write about it.
Make sure you are including a perspective which complements the points already covered.
While this is tough to do if done right can yield some great results.
Including some extra tips - Did you think of a few points or tips which would add to the post? Then make sure to add them.
Sharing your success story - Have you had some success with the information written then go ahead and write about your experiences.
Make sure to add any insights you might have, or special tips which you feel will help others.
