- 1). Create a video of your Krav Maga skills. Before seeking certification, you must complete all basic training. Depending on the organization, this may mean completing basic, intermediate and advanced classes. Some organizations use a series of colored belts for advancement, similar to martial arts. Your certification video should highlight the skills you have learned, including basic holds, basic disarming and basic attacks.
- 2). Take a pre-test with the leader of the Instructor Certification class. The pre-test includes basic physical fitness as well as Krav Maga technique. This test is used as a benchmark.
- 3). Complete the Instructor Certification classes. Depending on the organization, these classes may require several weeks or even several months of study. The classes cover Krav Maga technique as well as instruction technique. Different classes are designed for teaching the military, civilians, and children and teens.
- 4). Take the post-test after the classes. Your results are compared to the results of the pre-test. Certification is offered at several levels. Gold certification is reserved for those who show exemplary understanding of both Krav Maga and the instruction techniques. Silver and bronze certification are offered for those who show some advancement. A simple completion certificate is offered to those who make it through the course with little improvement.
