- 1). Place a socket wrench over the bolt in the center of the automatic tensioner pulley and turn the wrench clockwise to relieve the tension on the serpentine belt. Slide the belt off the tensioner pulley, and let the tensioner move back into position.
- 2). Position the socket wrench on the bolt in the center of the tensioner arm and unfasten the bolt by turning the wrench counterclockwise. Remove the bolt from the tensioner arm.
- 3). Detach the tensioner pulley and arm from the engine and remove the automatic tensioner assembly from the engine compartment.
