- 1). Inspect the plant for developing pods once the flowers have wilted and the petals begin to drop. Seed pods are oval with a point at one end.
- 2). Pick the pods off the vine once they turn completely brown or tan and feel thoroughly dry. Place the pods in a small bowl as you collect them.
- 3). Split the pods open with your fingernail. Shake out the seed into a second bowl. Separate any plant matter from the seeds.
- 4). Label an envelope as moonflower seeds and include the year harvested. Store the envelope in a cool, dry place until you are ready to plant them the next year.
