- 1). Pick the lilies you wish to use in the bouquet. You can get fresh calla lilies from several Internet sources, especially if the lilies are out of season, or visit your local florist. You may also have some luck at the farmer's market, but be sure it's lily season.
- 2). Cluster the lilies together and trim the stems so they are all about the same length, about an inch below where the bouquet will be held.
- 3). Decide where the hand will hold the bouquet. FavorIdeas.com suggests six inches below the blooms. Hold the cluster tightly just underneath that length and begin wrapping the florist's tape around the bundle, securing the stems. Wrap the tape around the stems several times to ensure a good hold.
- 4). Wrap the decorative ribbon around the lily bouquet, making sure to cover the florist's tape completely with the ribbon. If you want the ribbon to act as an additional decoration for the bouquet, tie it securely into a bow or knot. You can either allow the ends of the ribbon to trail down or you can snip them off with the scissors.
If you don't want ribbon decoration, secure the ribbon's end with some straight pins. Stick the pins into the bouquet at an angle, making sure the tips are well-sheathed by the lily stems. Once the ribbon is secured, snip off the extra ribbon with the scissors.
