- 1). Remove the negative battery cable from the battery with a wrench.
- 2). Pull on the upper edge of the horn pad, located in the center of the steering wheel, until the horn pad detaches from the steering wheel.
- 3). Unplug the wiring harnesses from the back of the horn pad.
- 4). Pull the retaining clip that surrounds the large nut in the center of the steering wheel off of the nut with needle-nose pliers.
- 5). Remove the large nut from the center of the steering wheel with a box-end wrench.
- 6). Attach a steering wheel puller to the face of the steering wheel, then use the tool to detach the steering wheel from the steering column by following the puller manufacturer's directions.
