- 1). Lift the hood of the Jeep by pulling the hood release lever under the dashboard on the driver's side of the vehicle.
- 2). Disconnect the grounding cable from the negative battery lead with the 10 mm wrench.
- 3). Attach the ring terminal from the amplifier wiring kit to the positive lead, by removing the positive lead bolt and replacing it with the ring terminal lead between the bolt and the lead post. Pull the fuse from the ring terminal fuse holder.
- 4). Attach the blue power cable from the wiring kit to the ring terminal and feed the cable through the firewall between the engine compartment and the inside of the Jeep's passenger cabin. Move to the inside of the Jeep.
- 5). Remove the two screws at the top edge of the dash trim panel surrounding the stereo and climate controls with the Phillips-head screwdriver.
- 6). Pull the ashtray from its slot and remove the two screws in the back of the ashtray compartment.
- 7). Pull the center dash panel away from the dashboard by hand. Remove the two bolts securing the stereo into the stereo mounting dock, with the 10 mm socket and drive.
- 8). Slide the stereo from the mounting dock in the dashboard and disconnect the stereo wiring from the rear panel of the radio. Leave the antenna cable connected.
- 9). Connect the stereo wiring to a wiring harness adapter and plug the wiring harness adapter leads into the back of the stereo.

Plug the patch cables from the amplifier wiring kit into the leads on the iring harness adapter. Run the patch cables through the opening in the back of the stereo mounting dock and down to the floor of the Jeep, on the passenger side. - 11
Slide the stereo into the mounting dock and replace the two bolts, securing the stereo into the mounting bracket. Place the dash trim panel over the stereo and climate controls, and press firmly around the perimeter to snap the panel onto the dashboard. - 12
Replace the two screws in the back of the ashtray compartment and place the ashtray back into its slot. - 13
Run the patch cables to the location of the powered subwoofer--ideally in the rear cargo area of the Jeep. - 14
Route the power cable from the driver's side foot well to the subwoofer. - 15
Plug the patch cables into the sub and connect the power cable to the outlet labeled "POWER" on the subwoofer. - 16
Connect the amplifier wiring kit's grounding wire to the sub an attach it to a screw or bolt directly connected to the frame of the Jeep. Return to the battery. - 17
Place the grounding cable onto the negative lead terminal and tighten the clamp of the cable to the lead post with the wrench. Place the fuse into the fuse holder on the amplifier ring terminal. Close the hood of the Jeep.
