- 1). Place your Glock magazine in a pair of vice grips and close them so that the magazine is held firmly--but not so firmly as to bend or mar the magazine. Make sure the bottom of the magazine is facing up. Padded vice grips are preferable, as these will lessen or negate the chance of marring your Glock's magazine.
- 2). Insert your Glock tool into the small hole on the bottom of the magazine and depress the button inside. If you do not have a Glock tool, a pin punch can be used as well.
- 3). Slide the plate off of the bottom of the magazine with your thumb. Be careful when doing this, because the magazine spring is under pressure and may pop out as you move the plate.
- 4). Remove the plastic tab from the Glock magazine and place it off to the side.
- 5). Place the Pearce grip extension onto the spring and push the spring back down into the magazine. To complete the installation, slide the grip into the same grooves out of which you slid the baseplate.
