- 1). Wash the Teflon surfaces of the damaged grill using warm water and mild dish soap. Make sure all food particles stuck to the grill plates are removed.
- 2). Let the grill dry for two to three hours. It is essential that there be no moisture on the grill when replacing its Teflon coating.
- 3). Spray the grill's Teflon surface with nonstick pan-repair spray, following the instructions and warnings that come with the spray. The spray can be found at most kitchen supply stores. Coat the surface evenly with the spray.
- 4). Let the grill dry for 30 minutes.
- 5). Plug in the grill and let it run for 45 minutes. The heat from the grill will seal in the new spray coating. Ventilate your kitchen well to disperse harmful fumes.
- 6). Let the grill cool. Wash it before using it to grill food.
