- 1). Cut out the bottom of an empty soda can with a knife.
- 2). Fill a tall bucket one-quarter full with water.
- 3). Tie a piece of wire to one side of the bucket. Slide the wire through the can, and then tie the other end to the bucket's handle. Place the soda can close to the handle; this allows the mouse or rat to enter.
- 4). Put peanut butter on the can to interest the rat or mouse.
- 5). Place a tall ruler or long stick next to the bucket. This is a defacto ramp that aids the rat or mouse in climbing up.
- 6). Put peanut butter at the top of the ruler or stick. The rodent will not be able to balance itself after it climbs up and enters the can. It will fall in the bucket and drown.
- 1). Place 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup baking soda in a bowl.
- 2). Stir ingredients well.
- 3). Spoon small amounts of the mixture onto small, disposable plates.
- 4). Place peanut butter around the edges of the plates. Peanut butter motivates the mouse or rat to investigate.
- 5). Place plates all around the areas where you suspect rodent activity. The mouse or rat dies -- due to an internal, carbon dioxide build-up -- after it ingests the mixture.
