Expressing gratitude on a daily basis is the best way to bring about positive change in your life.
Most of us get so caught up in the routine, and struggles that life presents us with each day, that we forget to pay attention to the good things.
A lot of the times we even believe that there really is nothing for which to be thankful when we are besieged by financial obligations, health issues and problems in our relationships.
These days it is especially hard to find any beauty or joy in our lives as times are difficult and the hope for a new and beautiful day seems like a distant dream.
It is precisely in the times that we have to discipline ourselves to focus on all the good that there is in our world if we would simply stop and pay attention.
Here are a few things to do each day: FIRST THING IN THE MORNING be thankful for a new day.
Expressing gratitude for being alive and the gift of the opportunity for a new beginning.
Each day brings with it new hope and the potential for something good to happen if we start our day in the proper frame of mind.
No matter how dismal it has been in our past, we can all find at least one thing in our lives that is positive.
If nothing else, we can be thankful that we are still here.
Where there is life, there is hope.
Hope leads to the belief in the possibility of something good occurring.
If you believe in something long enough, that conviction takes hold and eventually we create the reality we envision.
IF YOU ARE BLESSED WITH GOOD HEALTH, that alone is enough for which to be thankful.
Many people are afflicted with illnesses that debilitate then and prevent them from doing the things that most of us take for granted.
Not having to deal with the cost of healthcare is also something that can be added to that list.
For those who are suffering the effects of a disease, focusing on the things that are working in your body is important: good eyesight, good hearing, the ability to walk, etc.
Sending positive thoughts and affirmations to the body will aid in its ability to repair itself.
If you are suffering from depression, focus on your good physical health and the start paying attention to the simple things in your life: a sunny day, a beautiful flower, the kiss from a loved one, a smile from a stranger.
BE THANKFUL for the people in your life who you love and who love you.
Tell your parents, your spouse, your children, and your friends, how important they are to you and what a difference they make in your life.
If you are looking for love, there is no better way than to give love.
If there is no one in your life, give love to yourself.
This is the most important gift you can give to yourself.
How can we expect another to give us what we cannot give to ourselves? Focus on all your good qualities and tell yourself each day what a valuable and wonderful person you are.
WHEN THE DAY COMES TO AN END, list in a gratitude journal (or mentally review) all the things you have to be thankful for that day.
Remember to give thanks for the opportunities you had to bring joy or comfort to the life of someone else.
If you practice giving thanks on a daily basis for what you now have in your life, more and more blessings will come to you.
It is what you put your focus on that eventually manifests in your life.
