6 Tips for Facebook Marketing Success

Facebook can be overwhelming at times, but it doesn't have to be.
With just a few key daily actions, you'll see significant results on your Facebook Page.
When done right, Facebook can position you as an industry leader, attract quality prospects, and increase your leads.
Sporadic Facebook activity doesn't yield much fruit.
The key is to do simple things on a daily basis.
The following 6 activities, when done on a daily basis, will get your Facebook Fans engaged and create a community of raving fans who will naturally tell their friends about your services and products.
Facebook Marketing Success Tip #1: Be a Problem Solver Solving problems for your fans creates trust and also establishes you as an industry expert.
Offer tips and encourage your fans to ask questions on your page.
Be quick to respond to questions with valuable advice.
Facebook Marketing Success Tip #2: Interact With Your Fans on a Daily Basis I make a point of commenting on other people's posts 3-5 times each day.
These comments are important because they add fuel to conversations and help to establish relationships.
When I comment on a fan's vacation photos or give input on a video posted by one of my peers, it shows that I care about them as people.
A great way to do this is to pay attention to the fans who post on your Facebook Page.
Click on their avatar to go to their page or profile and then post a comment.
When you post on your fans' pages or profiles, make a point of using their first name, use natural language like you would with a friend over a cup of coffee, and be brief.
Facebook Marketing Success Tip #3: Track Your Facebook Metrics Though less than exciting, tracking the activity on your Facebook Page is an important part of growing your fan base and maintaining momentum.
Here are a few things to track on a regular basis:
  • Number of total fans
  • Number of new fans
  • Fan growth from the last week
  • Number of unlikes
  • Number of weekly actives
  • Actives growth from the week before
To find these metrics, check out the Facebook Insights on your page.
To do so, go to your page and click on "edit page" in the upper right-hand corner.
Over to the left you'll see a list of links.
Click on the Insights link.
Facebook Marketing Success Tip #4: If Something Isn't Working, Change It It's important to have patience when building your Facebook activity, but you need to know when to change something if it's not working.
To know when to be patient and when to move on, set some goals with a time limit for reaching the goals.
If you reach the goal date and still haven't gotten results, tweak what you're doing right away.
To avoid unnecessary damage, do this sooner rather than later.
For instance, if you've been asking questions on your fan page for a few weeks with minimal response, pay attention to the questions that do get responses.
That will help you zero in on what your fans are truly interested in.
You might want to also consider if your questions are too hard or would take too much time to answer.
It's important to ask questions that are easy to answer.
Questions that only require a one-word answer are the most effective.
The most important thing to remember is that if something isn't working, learn from it and move on! Facebook Marketing Success Tip #5: Regularly Post Content Publish your content in as many places as possible.
You want your content to be seen by a number of potential clients.
Although Facebook is a powerful tool, use other social media tools such as your blog, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn.
To help you create content regularly, do the following:
  • Create a six-month editorial calendar.
You can do this in Microsoft Word, or use an online digital calendar.
  • Decide how often you'll create content and what type of content you'll create.
Some options include blog posts, podcasts, videos, reports and articles.
Creating a variety of content will help you reach a broader audience.
  • Brainstorm ideas for content that relates to your niche or brand.
Focus on what your clients need the most.
To better understand what your prospects are interested in, check out what your top competitors are posting.
Facebook Marketing Success Tip #6: Focus on Giving "Give and you shall receive" is an important rule in social media.
Share valuable content that others have posted.
It's a good idea to share links to content from the influencers in your niche.
This helps you build relationships with those people, and may lead to future partnerships.
But also share content from your regular fans who are not yet well known.
If you share content from some of your lesser known fans, they will be fans for life.
