Write an article a day? Oh? Okay, I can do that.
How's that? Well, for starters, my brain's still working, I write every day anyway.
I still have thoughts about something every day.
Let's give it a try.
And if I can do it, and what's in it for me? Traffic, traffic to my monologue website.
What is your dream? Mine, as a writer, is to sell my monologues online and never have to work outside the home again.
Anybody else? I've recently submitted two articles to EzineArticles and before even hearing from them on acceptance, yeah or nay, my hits are up more than I want to brag about.
Now that's a whopping big number! I'm convinced already.
After all, I've earned it.
I've been telling stories since I made them up, one by one in childhood.
My father would tell me a story at bedtime, making it up as he went, and I would take my turn.
This was our ritual and I've been writing them ever since.
Now I also write plays and I feel the need to have the world enjoy them.
Thank you, God, for the web.
My short literary suspense novel, King's X, is finished and looking for a home.
All monologues for sale on my website come from my own work.
My favorite drama teacher once said to me and to his audience, "All good ten minute plays have something wonderful in them.
" So I took my collection of ten minute plays apart and found the "wonderful" in each.
All are my own work, not from the masters.
I'm no slouch, either, I said to myself, then got to work.
Now my favorite plays' best characters are my best friends.
These short monologues' glimpses of life please me and excite me and I am content.
Now, when I'm hungry for a new article title, at bedtime I think about my need, let my day's thoughts bounce around, getting ready for tomorrow, plant the seed and let it grow overnight.
What is your dream? Now wake up! What is on your mind today, big time? Think it over, dig it up, milk it, every drop.
Look it over, inch by inch.
Where did it come from? Where is it now? Where is it going? There's an article in there.
Work those ruby red slippers.
Share that thought, whatever your thought for today is.
You can do that.
