- 1). Operate the rear wiper by turning the rear wiper knob on the end of the windshield/rear wiper lever two clicks to the "On" position. Turn the key to the "Off" position to stop the wiper in the "Auto Stop" position.
- 2). Remove the wiper arm cover (the cover at the base of the wiper arm) then remove the retaining nut with a wrench. Pull the wiper arm off.
- 3). Turn the wiper blade assembly so it is perpendicular to the wiper arm.
- 4). Pull the wiper blade assembly down and out of the wiper arm.
- 5). Insert the new wiper blade assembly so the pivot pin in the back of the assembly fits into the slot in the wiper arm.
- 6). Press the wiper blade assembly onto the wiper arm then turn it down so the wiper blade assembly is parallel to the wiper arm.
- 7). Clean the wiper pivot arm with a wire brush.
- 8). Lay the wiper blade against the rear glass while holding the base of the wiper arm over the pivot arm but not engaging the two assemblies. Using a ruler, hold the outer-most tip of the wiper blade .8 inch to 1.4 inches (20.5- to 35.5 mm) from the right-side, lower edge of the rear glass. Press the wiper arm onto the pivot arm while holding the wiper blade tip in place in relation to the edge of the glass.
- 9). Screw the retaining nut on finger-tight.
- 10
Squirt windshield washer fluid onto the rear window then activate the rear wiper. Turn the wiper off. - 11
Measure the distance between the tip of the wiper blade and the edge of the glass. The tip should be between .8 inch and 1.4 inches from the edge of the glass. Remove the retaining nut and the wiper arm, then repeat Steps 8 through 11 until the distance is correct. - 12
Tighten the retaining nut to 78 inch-pounds with the torque wrench. Reinstall the wiper arm cover.
