How to Host a High School Musical Theme Party

    • 1). Any good party starts with the invitation. You can purchase pre-made invitations featuring some of your favorite "High School Musical" characters. Or you can create them yourself using card stock and adding some "High School Musical" clip art. Be sure to include on the invitation that guests dress in theme, preferably as their favorite character.

    • 2). Have the party at your home because it is more conducive to a theme such as "High School Musical." It allows kids to go crazy singing without having to worry about disturbing others not involved in the party. Having the party at home also allows you to control the food and beverages.

    • 3). Set the tone for the party with decorations. Hang a "High School Musical" banner inside the front door in view of where guests will enter. Rent life size cutouts of the casts that guests can get their picture taken with. Or print out pictures from the Internet and blow them up.

    • 4). Singing is a must for a "High School Musical" party. Consider renting a karaoke machine so that guests feel like stars. You can make a stage area for guests to perform as well. Dancing is also a must for a "High School Musical"party. If you don't have the CD soundtrack, you can download it off the Internet.

As many times as they have seen the movies, the kids probably will want to watch it again during this party. So be sure to have a copy of it available. And even if they don't want to devote their full attention to it, you can have it playing in the background.

    • 5). Party favors are always a fun addition to a party. They are souvenirs for partygoers. Purchase gift bags at a dollar store. Then print "High School Musical" pictures from the Internet and glue them on.

"High School Musical" themed items can be purchased for the bags. Consider stickers, notebooks and pencils to add to the gift bags.

You can make personalized CDs of "High School Musical" songs for the guests. Or you can record (audio and or video) the guest performing karaoke and copy it onto a disc for each of them to take home.

Purchase inexpensive picture frames, take pictures of the kids at the party and add them to the frame.
