- 1). Enter *#06# on the Nokia to display the IMEI number. This number is your phone's unique code and is required to generate a valid unlock code.
- 2). Call your service provider's customer service number and give them your IMEI number.
- 3). Request the unlock code. Tell them you would like to use the phone overseas, and many will happily give you the code if your account is in good order and you have completed a certain contract minimum. Call back if the first operator is unhelpful and try again.
- 4). Remove the battery, then remove the SIM and turn on the phone.
- 5). Enter #pw+code+1# to unlock the phone. For "code," enter the number received from the customer service representative. The Nokia will display a message saying stating, "SIM Restriction Off" to verify that the code was entered properly.
