- 1). Create a duplicate copy of the image you want to adjust in Photoshop Elements 6. You want to work with a copy so no changes can be made to the original. Open your Layers Palette by clicking "Layer."
- 2). Click on the "Create Adjustment Layer" icon and choose "Hue/Saturation."
- 3). Adjust the "Saturation" slider to the left to slowly remove color from the image. You can play around with this feature. The most desaturated image will end up being grayscale if you move the slider all the way to the left. Note that you can also increase the amount of color by moving the slider to the right.
