Goals, goals, goals.
Everyone urges us to get bigger, better, faster, stretchier.
Frankly, I am over it.
The constant urge to expand leaves me deflated and overwhelmed.
I propose an alternative: intentions and expectations, PLUS the one thing that needs to rule in the New Year (more on this later).
Let me illustrate with an anecdote where you can laugh at my lack of golfing technique.
My 'goal' to score par or better in a recent golf game had me sweating and anxious.
You see, I'm a new golfer with limited talent and training - I hit like a hockey player.
So such a goal was a massive mountain to climb.
I felt burdened by my own pressure to perform.
Been there before yourself? Any golfer (or brain surgeon) will tell you that pressure and nerves don't steady the hand much.
So first I had to let go of the story I had around the golfing score (I'll impress the in-laws, hubby will be proud, maybe I have some hidden talent after all, blah blah blah...
) Instead I focused on the motion and experience of the golf stroke.
I sank in to the experience.
But it was only when my father-in-law Paul (bless him!) kept telling me, "Keep your head down - stop looking up!" that it finally clicked what was sabotaging my stroke and sending my ball in to the bushes...
I would rush through the stroke and look up early to see where I'd hit the ball.
This threw my weight on to the wrong foot and the ball twanged awry.
I needed to focus in the moment, visualise the stroke, feel the stroke completed and the ball sailing through the air, and then look to see what happened.
The more immersed I was in feeling and seeing the stroke and ball move in perfect placement, the more I was rewarded with a long and straight hit.
Here's the kicker: the more focused I was on rehearsing and feeling the stroke, the more complete I felt when I finished the stroke.
I lifted my head a few moments after my follow through feeling awesome already - having felt and imagined the perfect connection, and the ball landing miles away in the right direction was a refreshing bonus.
Summary tips for you to manifest your 'goals' faster and easier: * Turn goals in to intentions and expectations.
This way your focus will be on the inner game and not on the external results.
It's the only way to manifest! * Be willing to let go of the story and attachments you have to the outcome.
The only 'story' or meaning you need is that it feels good.
That's it, that's all.
* Immerse yourself in the feeling and picture of your intention.
* Rehearse it and feel it in every ounce of your being using all the intentions.
So what rules in the New Year? The VIBE rules of course! When you focus on the feelings of your intention and feel them now in rehearsal - you are in perfect vibrational alignment with your intentions.
Manifestation thus flows automatically and you'll be hitting under par on your games too.
So choose your intentions for the New Year, and let the vibe rule!
