How to Read & Write CD Freeware

    Read a CD

    • 1). Insert your CD into your computer.

    • 2). Wait a few moments for the "AutoPlay" dialog window to appear.

    • 3). Choose the program you want to open the disc with and click "OK."

    Write a CD

    • 1). Insert a blank CD-R into your computer.

    • 2). Click "Burn files to disc using Windows Explorer" if you want to write a data disc. From here choose "Like a USB flash drive" if you want to burn additional files to it at a later date, or "With a CD/DVD player" if you want to close the session.

    • 3). Click "Burn audio disc using Windows Media Player" if you want to write an audio CD. Create a playlist and click "Burn files to disc."

    • 4). Close the autoplay dialog if you want to burn a disc image. Locate your disc image. Double-click it and click "Burn."
