- 1). Inspect the structure thoroughly.
- 2). Tighten any loose nuts and bolts.
- 3). Replace missing protective caps or covers.
- 4). Replace any rotting wood.
- 5). Sand and repaint any rusty or splintered spots.
- 6). Oil any joints so that everything moves properly.
- 7). Rake the mulch underneath to loosen it. There should be at least a couple of inches underneath to cushion any falls.
- 8). Add new mulch to fill in low areas and add some color to the area.
