Alyssa and I went to Washington DC New Years for my dad's Independence Day, 4th of July birthday party over the weekend. We stayed at his house from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon.
I took a 4 day vacation leave from my customer service job, so I did not write any new year's washington d.c. articles over the weekend either. On Friday, I spent most of the time in the swimming pool with my brother. I also had to pump breast milk a few times so that other people could feed my baby over the weekend. When my brothers went to bed that night, I helped my dad make drinks for the next day. I also had a piece of lemon cake that his friend make; it was very delicious.
Saturday morning, I ate breakfast, cleaned the pool while listening to the loud outside stereo, and helped my dad and his friend get some things ready for the Washington DC New Years party. Before everyone started arriving, I took a shower and got dressed and ready for the fun night ahead. Right after lunch time, my dad's friend's children, one of their friends, my dad and his friend's friends, some family, and everyone's children arrived. The food was on the grill!
Soon, everyone started drinking then eating then drinking and dancing and drinking! There was beer pong for the 21+ crowd along with beer, whiskey, gin, rum, and tequila. The food was pork shoulders, peas, green beans, homemade foods such as pasta salad, potato salad, baked beans, lemon cake (which I had about 3 or 4 pieces of myself!), washington dc new years chocolate bread pudding bars, a pie, and other things that I can not remember. The kids were all in the pool most of the day; they also drank a lot of soda and ate many chips.
I spent most of Saturday listening to and watching my dad be crazy. He had fun, I had fun, and we all had fun. I met a few new people as well as caught up with some people I had not seen in a long time. I think I want to have my 21st Washington DC New Years birthday party at my dad's house next year!
