With people botting in RuneScape steadily on the rise;I thought I'd share my thoughts on the subject.
Log on to RuneScape right now.
You see that man there? Yes,the one fletching on the bank spot...
most likely a bot.
In fact, you're probably surrounded by 5,if not more characters botting.
And if you're in a heavily populated bank e.
g.
soulwars? Well,it could be into the 100's of people botting.
But is it wrong? Yes...
if you want to be black and white about it.
The bible makes a statement: "Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.
" BULLSHIT.
We've been cheating in games since they existed.
I'm not even going to go into why as I'm not a psychologist, but it's quite obvious isn't it? The feeling of winning is great...
The feeling of beating other people,of being better than everybody else is incredible.
It's our competitive nature as human's that has us where we are today.
But I digress.
It is my opinion that you should bot on RuneScape if you want to.
If you'd prefer to walk in your integrity, then so be it -each to their own.
ADVANTAGES OF BOTTING: Botting is currently fundamental to the economy in RuneScape.
If you took it out, then there'd by an incredible amount of raw resource taken out of the game and the prices for everything would sky-rocket.
Mass collecting this stuff is making it cheaper -which is great news for legit players! Some people make a living through botting! It's providing a job to some and some extra money on the side for most.
Selling gold is what Jagex really don't like us doing, but it makes sense to me.
There is obviously a market for people wanting to buy gold and there's obviously a lot of people prepared to farm it.
It's my opinion that instead of trying to fight an impossible war,Jagex should get in on this.
If they provided a marketplace for players to buy and sell gold (which was transferred from one account to another through the game code) and took even a 1% cut for every trade then they'd make so much money! It would be favourable for everyone too! No more scamming in the black market costing people their real hard earned cash.
DISADVANTAGES OF BOTTING: You're not actually playing the game...
It takes out a load of gameplay (I know most of it is monotonous),which takes away a large portion of the gaming experience.
Instead of training your construction and building up a wonderful mansion of a house, you have 50million oak tables -there's no story behind it.
Instead of training your slayer and feeling the amazing rush of a whip drop, you see one in your bank 4 days later.
Instead of training your fishing and chatting to some people and making great friends, you're sitting watching House MD (although House MD is AMAZING).
Anyway...
you get my drift.
In conclusion, I'm all for botting.
I think it's a great way for people to reach their goals if they live busy lives and only have a few hours a day to play things they really like to do (e.
g.
minigames or pking).
But what do you people think?
