How to Operate the Wii Game System

    Hook Up

    • 1). Insert the red plug from the Wii Sensor Bar into the red outlet on the back of the console.

    • 2). Place the Wii Sensor Bar on the top of the television so that it is parallel to the screen with the two ends of the bar visible to you.

    • 3). Plug the end of the AV cable into the black outlet next to the Wii Sensor Bar outlet.

    • 4). Insert the red, yellow and white plugs of the AV cable into the back of your television set. Place the yellow plug in the “Video” socket, the red plug into the “Audio R” socket and the white plug into the “Audio L” socket.

    • 5). Plug the black end of the power cable into the rear of the console and the pronged end into a power outlet.

    Syncing the Wii Remote

    • 1). Press the power button on the front of the Wii console. The light on the button will turn yellow.

    • 2). Remove the back of the Wii Remote for access to the red SYNC button. Flip the front flap of the Wii console open to see the matching red SYNC button.

    • 3). Press the SYNC button on the Wii console. Press the SYNC button on the Wii remote afterward. The blue lights on the bottom of the Wii Remote will flash.

    • 4). Wait for the flashing lights on the Wii Remote to stop. Only one light will remain illuminated, indicating the Wii Remote is synched and ready for use.

    Navigation

    • 1). Slide the wrist strap of the Wii Remote around your wrist and pull the tab to tighten.

    • 2). Grip the Wii Remote in your hand so that your thumb and index finger form a “V” along the right side of the remote, or left side if you are left-handed. Your thumb should be able to reach the “A” button.

    • 3). Point the Wii Remote at the television screen. A small, pointing hand will be displayed on the screen.

    • 4). Move the Wii remote around the screen, the pointer will follow. Rotate the Wii remote to rotate the pointer.

    • 5). Highlight one of the icons on the screen, known as a “Channel.” Press “A” on the Wii remote to select the channel.
