- 1). Select a level from the world map. Each game is divided into multiple levels. At the beginning of the game, you can play only the first level. By beating it, you unlock more levels you can play. Once a level is unlocked, you can play through it as many times as you like.
- 2). Run, fly and swim through the various levels. Along the way, you'll encounter enemies such as Gnorcs. These can be killed by using your breath attack on them. Many levels also end with an unique boss monster, which is considerably tougher. Some bosses cannot be damaged by normal attacks, and to do any damage, you must target a specific region of their body, such as their face or back.
- 3). Collect gems. Each level has a certain number of gems in it, many of which are hidden. In order to find them all, explore the levels carefully. By collecting all the gems in the game, you can unlock special features, such as a better ending or artwork. In addition to gems, some games feature other collectibles, such as dragon eggs.
