Origins

• The Protracker software program creates Protracker Studio modules and is used for creating and editing audio files. A type of computer-aided drafting software used for designing parts and machines, Siemens Solid Edge produces Solid Edge sheet metal files. The database and interpretation program SiSense Prism is associated with Prism documents.
  
  

Function

• Protracker Studio modules contain songs or parts of songs, such as backing vocals or the sound of the lead guitar. Solid Edge sheet metal files hold a design 3D model of a part or assembly for a machine. Prism documents are a chart, graph or other document created from information served in SiSense Prism.
  
  

Use

• Other audio software programs can access and play ProTracker Studio module files, such as CocoModX for Mac OS X and MODPlug Player for Windows. The other two types of files with the PSM file EXT are accessible only on Windows-based computers with the programs that created them.
