- 1). Roll or slide the refrigerator out from the wall and check to make sure the waterline is firmly connected to the back of the refrigerator. Use your hand or a wrench to tighten the the bolt on the connection if necessary. Inspect the waterline to make sure it is not pinched and that it does not have any holes in it. A pinched water line does not allow water to freely flow and makes it difficult for the ice maker to collect enough water to efficiently make ice.
- 2). Press firmly on the freezer door to ensure it is completely closed. The ice maker will not dispense ice unless the door is fully closed.
- 3). Move the lever inside the ice bin down to activate the ice maker. A lever that is in the up position means that the ice maker is turned off, therefore it will not make more ice until it is pressed down.
- 4). Wait about three minutes for the ice maker to begin functioning again if you have held in the dispenser arm for several minutes without a break. This overheats the motor. The ice maker shuts down momentarily to reset itself before it begins to function again.
