So it's nearly Christmas time and you're excited.
In fact your entire family are.
The presents are bought and the kids have all received letters from Santa and are brimming with excitement.
If you're lucky enough to live in a part of the world that gets snow at this wonderful time of year, then I'm sure you know that snow can be both a blessing and a curse.
It looks nice and pretty, but it's awfully cold, and can cause a range of accidents, anything from slipping to skidding in your car.
However, snow is almost an essential part of Christmas in some countries, so it's important to make the most of it and enjoy it while it's there! One thing you can do is, obviously, take your kids out and make snowmen or snow angels.
This is great fun and it's an opportune time to get the entire family involved in something seasonal and wintery and Christmas-like.
You don't need anything to make a snow angel, all you need is your body and a sense of fun and enjoyment! However, for snowmen, you might need to rake the cupboards and find some old, forgotten clothes or accessories.
For example, you could go with the plain ordinary snowman with buttons and a scarf and a hat and stones as eyes and a carrot for a nose.
Alternatively, you could get a bit creative with it and give him (or her!) a classy shirt or jumper coupled with a zip-up or buttoned skirt, with a flashy scarf and emerald jewels as eyes.
All that limits you is your imagination! The more creative and imaginative your snowman, the more fun it's likely to be and inevitably the more joy it'll bring to your neighbourhood as people passing by turn to look at your extravagant, unique snowman! Another way to make the best of snow is to go for a nice romantic walk with your partner.
Now, this might not be ideal if it's a blizzard outside and the winds would (quite literally) sweep you off your feet.
However, if the snow is falling gently and the ground is glistening and sparkling white, it could be the ideal time to drag your partner into the cold, wrapped up nice and warm, and just have a nice, slow, romantic stroll in the snow.
It might seem really cliche, the kind of thing you see in Christmas movies as the main character gets their "perfect ending", but what's stopping you from having that fairytale ending too? It might not be an ending as such, but it's certainly a nice gesture! Lastly, and maybe not for all families, you could have a snowball fight! You can involve as many people as you like, so you could involve just your kids, or you could involve the whole neighbourhood and start an "annual neighbourhood snowball fight"! You never know, it might catch on! Snowball fights have often proved to be great fun for children and parents, and can often bring out a "reversion" back to childhood for many parents and adults, just for a short while! So if you're lucky enough to be given snow for Christmas, see it as a Wintery positive and make the most of it by having some much-earned fun after all your stressful shopping trips!
