I believe that everyone should be informed before they spend their hard earned money on anything.
First thing you need to know is that there have been over 2,100 toxic cancer causing chemicals and micro-organisms that have been found in water supplies across the country.
These chemicals and micro-organisms have names like Cryptosporidium, Giardia, alachlor, Atrazine, benzene, chlorine, and lead.
I will tell you that when I saw that there were these kinds of things being found in water that I felt it was time to make a permanent change to use a water filter.
As you do the research you will find that all filtration systems are not the same.
In fact, many of them have design flaws that allow certain toxins to pass through the system into the water that is supposed to be drinkable.
The prices of these systems can get as high as 750 dollars for a system that works poorly when compared to a 100 dollar system.
The higher price does not mean it has higher quality.
I did find that there is a standard for these kinds of systems.
The National Sanitation Foundation has two important standards that you want to look for in comparing systems.
They are standard 42 and 53.
Standard 42 is concerned with reduction of chlorine, chloramines, and particulate reduction from drinking water.
Standard 53 is concerned with reduction of a significant amount of specific harmful contaminants from drinking water.
Know that there are many different kinds of contaminants in water.
Know that all of these systems are very different and look for a system that works for what you want to provide to your home.
Make sure you find out if it is a quality company by looking for some testing that has been done to national standards.
