- Summer style doesn't have to be complicatedhair styling image by MAXFX from Fotolia.com
Changing your hairstyle during the hot and humid summer months is an inexpensive way to keep yourself cool. You can choose to wear your hair differently, or cut it, or a combination of both. With some styles, you can just wash it and go--others require some fairly elaborate styling. - Rebooting a short hair style can be accomplished through either cutting it even shorter, or using hair accessories to change what you already have. Something simple like clipping bangs out of the way can change your look enough for something new for summer.
- The most popular way to change medium-length hair is to wear it up. Twisting it into an upsweep with a hairband is popular for 2010, according to "ELLE" magazine. Clipping back the sides and wearing your hair down, or wearing it in a bun or ponytail, are also popular choices to get the hair off your neck during the summer months.
- If you don't want to change your hair's length, you can do quite a number of diverse things with your long hair to change its look for the summer. Faux-messy side braids are popular, as are french braids to keep your neck free of hair. High ponytails, curling the ends of your hair under, are popular. You can easily clip your hair up and brush your bangs so that they part on a different side. Twists held in place with different clips might work for you if you don't want to cut your hair. If you don't mind cutting your hair, adding layers might be the way to go.
